Assamese filmmakers Jahnu Barua and Manju Borah have won Rajat Kamal honours in the 60th National Film Awards for the year 2012 for the movie “Bandhon” and “Ko:Yad” respectively. Ko: Yad (whirlpool), a Mising film produced and directed by Manju Borah has won the Rajat Kamal as best Mising film, whereas Sudhir Palsane have won the Rajat Kamal for best cinematography in the same film.Another film Bandhon which was produced by the Assam State Film Corporation and directed by Jahnu Baruah.The film directed by Jahnu Borah which is a internationally acclaimed film based on the terror attack of 26/11 in Mumbai. Bishnu Kharghoria get the jurry’s special mention award for his excellent acting in th film Bandhon. Again the film Ko:Yad which is based on a life of an Missing Old man. Again Moni Bordoloi get the Best Narration/Voice Over National Award for the assamese documentary Suranjana Deepali , which is made on the lifehistory and musical journey of Assamese Famous singer Deepali Borthakur.
