2. How to achieve and maintain a healthy head of beautiful hair.

         FOR SOFT SKIN:

  • A few drops of honey and lemon juice mixed together is the best natural moisturizer.
  • Soak two teaspoons of whole chana dal in two teaspoons of milk overnight. In the morning mast it and make it into a paste. Add a few drops of honey and orange juice. This makes the skin soft and fair.  
  • Mix two teaspoons of honey and one teaspoon of glycerin. Store in a bottle. At night, after washing your face, massage this lotion on the face and leave it overnight. Wash it in the morning by gently massaging in upward directions.

  • White of an egg is a good toner for the skin. it tightens the facial skin. Apply it for 15 minutes and wash away with warm water. If you have a dry skin, add a few drops of coconut oil to the egg white.


  •  Bitter almonds make an excellent face pack when mixed with sandalwood powder and 'multani mitti'.

  •  If your skin has got badly tanned, apply raw potato juice to get rid of the tan.

  • To remove pimples, mix a equal quantity of eau-de-cologne with boiled and cooled lemon juice and apply it over the pimples. This will help you to soothe the pimples and make your skin soft and smooth.

  • Papaya pulp when applied regularly on the face, cures pimples and blackheads.

  •  Place a pumpkin slices over your eyes , it will help you to get rid of dark circles under the eyes.

  • If your skin is dry, apply a mixture of fresh cream, honey and glycerin on the face. It will keep the complexion glowing.

  • For a smooth and soft complexion during winter months, apply a moisture of fresh cream and honey on your face and neck.

  • Apply a mixture of curd and gram flour to the face and leave it on for 15 minutes before washing it off. This will help you to remove wrinkles.

  • A mixture of finely powdered dry tulsi leaves, 1 tablespoon of milk and almond oil helps clear pimples.

  • Rub ice cold orange juice on dry skin in circular motion. It gives you a glowing complexion.

  • Clean your face make-up residue by scrubbing it with a spoon of gram flour mixed with water.

  • Smear the body with equal quantities of Vaseline and glycerin 10 minutes prior to bathing. This prevents the skin from drying.

  • For a glowing skin, mash a banana in a teaspoon of milk and apply the paste on the face.

  • To remove whiteheads , take a mixture of powdered green peas, milk and the lemon juice. Apply is to the affected area. Once it is dry, dab with lemon juice or milk and scurb off in a circular motion, very slowly but firmly. If you do this regularly for a period of two weeks, you will find a difference look in your skin.


  • Dry the orange skin (peel) in the sun. When fully dry and hard, crush it and make into powder form. Add a few drops of rose water and turmeric power (haldi). Apply on the face for 20 minutes. Wash with cold water.

  • Mashed pulp of papaya is helpful for pimple prone skin.

  • Mix the juice of coriander leaves and mint leaves. Add yogurt and few drops of lemon juice. Apply on the face for a month and see the difference.

  • Grate carrots juice. Mix in some honey and apply on dry skin. In case of oily skin, just add a few drops of lime to the juice. It even helps reduce pimples.
