Given its tremendous impact, the creators have announced that a third installment, ‘Stree 3’, is already in the works. However, Rajkummar Rao’s wife, Patralekhaa, has decided not to join the cast. During an interview with Filmygyan, Patralekhaa expressed her admiration for the on-screen chemistry between Rajkummar and Shraddha, stating, “No, Shraddha hai. Unki jodi bahut mast hai. Abhishek hai, Apar hai, Pankaj, wo world set hai.”

‘Stree 2’ continued the spine-chilling events in the town of Chanderi and featured a stellar cast including Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurana, and Pankaj Tripathi, all reprising their beloved roles. In parallel, Patralekhaa recently starred in the limited series ‘IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack’, where she gained critical acclaim for her role as air hostess Indrani. The trailer for Amar Kaushik’s much-anticipated horror-comedy sequel, “Stree 2,” was unveiled on Thursday, July 18. In this sequel, the quaint town of Chanderi is again besieged by supernatural occurrences, but unlike the first film, it is not the ghostly figure of ‘Stree’ who is behind the havoc. This time, the townspeople, including characters played by Rajkummar Rao, Abhishek Banerjee, Pankaj Tripathi, and Aparshakti Khurana, face a new, terrifying adversary. The trailer also features Tamannaah Bhatia, adding to the ensemble cast.

The plot of “Stree 2” revolves around the residents of Chanderi as they confront a new and dangerous entity: a headless male monster named Sarkata. According to Rudra Bhaiya, a character played by the ever-entertaining Pankaj Tripathi, Sarkata is the arch-enemy of Stree. He has returned with a sinister agenda to brainwash the men of Chanderi, functioning in a manner akin to a contemporary ‘influencer.’

The responsibility to save Chanderi from this new threat falls on Vicky, portrayed by Rajkummar Rao, who reunites with his long-lost love, famously known for her distinctive ponytail, played by Shraddha Kapoor. Along with their friends, they embark on a mission to vanquish Sarkata and restore peace to their town.

“Stree 2,” brought to audiences by Maddock Films and Jio Studios, promises to blend horror with humor, much like its predecessor, delivering a unique cinematic experience.
