After the massive success of ‘Stree 2’, starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, the film has left an indelible mark at the box office since its release on Independence Day 2024. Given its tremendous impact, the creators have announced that a third installment, ‘Stree 3’, is already in the works. However, Rajkummar Rao’s wife, Patralekhaa, has decided not to join the cast. During an interview with Filmygyan, Patralekhaa expressed her admiration for the on-screen chemistry between Rajkummar and Shraddha, stating, “No, Shraddha hai. Unki jodi bahut mast hai. Abhishek hai, Apar hai, Pankaj, wo world set hai.”

‘Stree 2’ continued the spine-chilling events in the town of Chanderi and featured a stellar cast including Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurana, and Pankaj Tripathi, all reprising their beloved roles. ZEE5 has unveiled its upcoming spy thriller, “Berlin,” directed by Atul Sabharwal, which has already received international acclaim. The trailer for Amar Kaushik’s much-anticipated horror-comedy sequel, “Stree 2,” was unveiled on Thursday, July 18. The film stars Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Abhishek Banerjee, and Pankaj Tripathi in pivotal roles. The narrative seems to pick up from where the first installment, released in 2018, concluded, immersing the audience once more in the eerie and whimsical world of Chanderi.

In this sequel, the quaint town of Chanderi is again besieged by supernatural occurrences, but unlike the first film, it is not the ghostly figure of ‘Stree’ who is behind the havoc. This time, the townspeople, including characters played by Rajkummar Rao, Abhishek Banerjee, Pankaj Tripathi, and Aparshakti Khurana, face a new, terrifying adversary. The trailer also features Tamannaah Bhatia, adding to the ensemble cast.

The plot of “Stree 2” revolves around the residents of Chanderi as they confront a new and dangerous entity: a headless male monster named Sarkata. According to Rudra Bhaiya, a character played by the ever-entertaining Pankaj Tripathi, Sarkata is the arch-enemy of Stree. He has returned with a sinister agenda to brainwash the men of Chanderi, functioning in a manner akin to a contemporary ‘influencer.’

The responsibility to save Chanderi from this new threat falls on Vicky, portrayed by Rajkummar Rao, who reunites with his long-lost love, famously known for her distinctive ponytail, played by Shraddha Kapoor. Along with their friends, they embark on a mission to vanquish Sarkata and restore peace to their town.

“Stree 2,” brought to audiences by Maddock Films and Jio Studios, promises to blend horror with humor, much like its predecessor, delivering a unique cinematic experience. The film is scheduled to premiere in theaters on August 15, 2024, marking an exciting date for fans eagerly awaiting the continuation of this quirky horror-comedy saga.

According to a report by PTI, the actor says that the nationwide lockdown happened at a crucial time in his career but right now he’s adapting to the changes and adjusting to taking script narrations online.

He said that with the coronavirus pandemic still hovering over, the industry is undoubtedly uncertain about resuming the shootings. So, for now he is adapting the new normal.

“Everybody’s shoot has been affected. It’s something which is totally out of our control. That’s not something I am really worried about right now. We all can wait.

“People’s health and lives are a lot more important than shoots. So we are just waiting for the right time to start the shoot,” Aparshakti said.

He added, “I’ve been at a different stage in my career, in a transitioning phase. But all these things can wait. I’ve waited for my career even when COVID-19 had not happened. The pandemic is a very valid reason for everything to come to a standstill. I won’t mind starting my journey again post this, whenever we resume shooting.”

 “I’ve started taking video narrations and it is quite bizarre. But that might be the case for the next few days. So, I am getting used to this new way of listening to scripts,” he said.

The actor was also seen in his T-series single, ‘Teri Yaari’, which got a good response from the audience. He had collaborated with Milind Gaba and King Kazi for this. The song is about celebrating friendship.

“We shot this before the world came to a standstill, before we went into the lockdown. It’s quite bizarre that right after that we haven’t been able to shoot. But thankfully the last thing we shot has really been fruitful and the response has been really good.

“This was an appropriate time to release the song. People are missing their friends and loved ones and maybe that’s why it have been impactful. The kind of feedback, response we have received is overwhelming,” he added.

Aparshakti was last seen in Pati Patni Aur Woh (2019) and Street Dancer 3-D (2020) and currently he was gearing up for his next project, Helmet.
