Harry Potter series has somewhat gave a different meaning to the lives of 90s kid, where each one has ended being wishing for a Hogwarts Acceptance Letter at the age of 11.

Since the time, the first movie of the series, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone was out in the theatres, till today, we picture Harry Potter as none other than Daniel Radcliffe. Well, Daniel Radcliffe’s name is now synonymous with Harry Potter.

Back in 2015, the film’s casting director Janet Hirshenson revealed that Daniel Radcliffe had almost quit acting before he auditioned for the role as a child actor.

While talking about how the lead roles were cast in the film series, Janet told Huffington Post that the process was intense, since JK Rowling had demanded that only British actors be cast. She also added that Harry needed to be of a specific age and have green or blue eyes. “For Harry, to complicate things, I needed a blue or green-eyed kid because part of Harry is this green eyes or that was another elimination thing. We said, “Oh, drat! He’s great, but he has brown eyes,” she said.

Adding to this, Janet said that Daniel wasn’t actually interested being Harry Potter when they first approached him. “He wasn’t interested. He didn’t want to be an actor anymore. But director Chris Columbus and producer David Heyman were quite impressed with him. One evening, David Heyman the producer went to the theatre and he knew Daniel’s father, who was an agent… so the producer ran into Daniel and his dad and said to Daniel, ‘Why don’t you come in and audition? Think about it.’ So he said, ‘OK’”.

Talking about how Emma Watson and Rupert Grint were casted, she said that they stood out and were cast quickly. Hirshenson continued, “We must’ve had about six Harrys, only two or three Hermiones- there wasn’t a lot- and there was probably five-ish Rons. For Hermione, as soon as Emma came on, there were six of us in the screening room. We just gasped. It was like, ‘Oh my God.’ Like, ‘Whoaaa!’ She took up the screen.” She added that it was Grint’s face that sold him as Ron.

Talking about how Daniel was cast for the role, she revealed they had shortlisted two kids. “The other kid was terrific and very vulnerable and very Harry-looking, but besides that, Harry was going to be a very powerful kid, too. And Daniel had both sides. He was very vulnerable, but the other kid- it was like, he was not going to have the balls that Daniel has, to put it that way.”

Well, the last thing that drew the makers close to finalizing was the chemistry between the three of them, the chemistry that millions of Harry Potter fans love and enjoy watching on the screen. “After we chose, they pulled the three of them up to Chris’s office, not telling them they got the part, but they were standing there, the three of them, looking at each other, probably figuring, ‘I think we may be it.’ So they told them they had it. ‘Yay, yay, yay,’ and then they started chattering amongst themselves because they hadn’t known each other very much. Emma asked Daniel if he liked the books and he said, ‘Yeah, I like WWF better, and she did a harumph or sone Hermione thing that was so perfect, just as herself. ‘[Gasp] WWF!’ and we just all were like, ‘Whoa, this is them.”

 Daniel Radcliff was last seen in an action comedy film, Guns Akimbo, which was released in September, 2019.

Actor Anupam Kher, who has been staying in Mumbai since the lockdown began, shared a hilarious video of himself getting haircut from his brother Raju. He captioned it, “We are not bald. We are just taller than our haircut!! That was a quickest haircut (sic).”

The video has been round the internet since quite a while and netizens have been reacting to it everywhere. However, a reaction from a netizen caught everyone’s eye as Anupam Kher and his brother were compared to the Weasley brother’s Fred and George from Harry Potter series.

The video invited many reactions from fans as well as from the celebrities. Even stand-up comedian Russel Peters commented on the post saying that both the brothers look like twins.

This was not the end. Amongst all these reactions, there were several fans who noticed how Anupam Kher’s bathroom had a duct tape for a quick fix solution. One of them said, “The humble bathroom of a superstar. It’s real pleasure to find out that even you use brown tape to cover the gap between exhaust fan and the window frame.

Recently, Anupam Kher had been quite active on social media and has been spreading awreness among his fans about the precautions that should be taken during this pandemic and has been trying to keep his fans  motivated and entertained to get through the tough time.

Recently, Alia Bhatt also joined the bandwagon of actors and celebrities reading Harry Potter books for the same intiative. To keep audiences entertained while being locked up in their homes, Alia is narrating and introducing Professor Snape, the Potions teacher at Hogwarts along with Alec Baldwin, who is making a cameo in the 18 minutes-long-video. Alec, too, brings along a special guest, his daughter Carmen to read the book.

About being a part of Harry Potter at Home, Alia said, “It wasn’t until lockdown in India that Harry, Hogwarts and the wizarding world became regular fixtures in my life. Somehow, despite the fierce insistence of my sister, life always intervened and I never quite got around to befriending the books. But, confined to my home- I journeyed to Hogwarts with Harry and was transported to a world of endless possibility. And, just like magic, that was when I was asked to be a part of Harry Potter at Home. I didn’t quite believe in magic until two months ago- but –now- thanks to Harry, I do. 10 million points to Gryffindor.”

She captioned her Instagram posts as, “Two months ago, Harry, Hogwarts, and the wizarding world walked into my life and almost immediately, in my heart. Somehow, when I was younger, life always intervened and I never quite got around to befriending the books.”

Started by JK Rowling’s fantasy media franchise Wizarding World, the Harry Potter at Home initiative sees celebrities from across the world read out portions from the series from their homes, and the videos are shared weekly.

The book reading session was kicked off by actor Daniel Radcliff, the titular character in all the eight films of the series. The second chapter was read by Noma Dumezweni, who features as Hermione Granger in the play Harry Potter And The Cursed Child. Eddie Redmayne, who played Newt Scamader in Harry Potter spin off series of Fantastic Beasts films, read the third chapter while Stephen Fry read the next one.

The stars are currently reading the chapters of the first book. More prominent faces are expected to feature in the coming weeks.

Georgia was spotted out with the Rupert in the month of April when she walked with him with her baby bump in north London.

A statement from the couple’s publicist confirmed the happy news: “Rupert Grint and Georgia Groome are delighted to confirm the birth of their baby girl.”

“We would please ask that you respect their privacy at this very special time.”

A representative for the couple said, “Rupert Grint and Georgia Groome are excited to announce they are expecting a baby and would please ask for privacy at this time.”

They are yet to reveal the name of the baby.

In an interview with The Guardian in 2018, Rupert opened up about his settling down and revealed his hopes to have children someday. He said, “Turning 30 felt strange. It just doesn’t feel like I’m there yet and I don’t know what the future holds. I’m just going to go with the flow, keep playing interesting characters and see what happens.”

“I’d like to settle down and have kids soon. If I had a son, would I call him Ron? Iyt’s quite a good name, but probably not. And Grint’s tough name to pair a one-syllable first name with.”

 Rupert and Georgia who is famed for her role in Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging, have been together since 2011.

The 31-year-old actor has been with Georgia since 2011 and finally the couple got some good news for their families and fans.

Grint made a worldwide fame after starring in Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone in 2001 as Ron, Harry’s best friend, who is loyal but always seemed to have a hard time around. He played this role in all the eight films in the franchise.

Beginning in 2002, Grint worked outside the Harry Potter franchise, playing a co-leading role in Thunderpants. He also starred  in Driving Lessons, a dramedy released in 2006, and Cherrybomb, a drama film of limited series in 2010. He also made in Broadway debut as Frank Finger in the play ‘It’s only a Play’at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre. Then in 2019, he starred in the TV series, Servant, on Apple TV+, where he was also an executive producer.

Georgia Groome is best known for her roles in ‘London to Brighton’ (2006) and ‘Angus’, ‘Thongs’ and Perfect Snogging’(2008).

The statement came a day after Groome was photographed with her growing baby bump, spotted while buying essential items along with Grint in North London.

Fans congratulated Rupert on social media. “Congratulations RON he’s gonna be a great dad,” wrote one of his fan. “I’m in love with this!!! Our sweet Ron are going to be a dad,” wrote another.

Well, it seems that the Potterheads started feeling ‘aged’ but of course couldn’t help themselves being more than happy for such an awesome news!
