Netflix India is currently facing criticism from both viewers and filmmaker Hansal Mehta due to the absence of the original Hinglish version of the film “The Buckingham Murders” on its platform. The investigative thriller, premiering on Netflix on November 8, 2024, features Kareena Kapoor Khan in a leading role but was only made available in a Hindi-dubbed version. Fans expressed their displeasure on social media, questioning Netflix’s decision to exclude the Hinglish version, which combines English and Hindi to reflect the multicultural essence of modern London.

Hansal Mehta, the film’s director, voiced his own frustration about the omission and has reached out to Netflix India to resolve the issue. He assured fans via a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter) that the exclusion was due to a technical error and that the platform would soon rectify it by uploading the original version. Mehta acknowledged viewers’ dissatisfaction with dubbed content and promised that the Hinglish version would be available in a few hours.

The Buckingham Murders revolves around a compelling crime drama set in London, where Kareena Kapoor Khan plays a detective unraveling the mystery of a missing young boy. The film showcases a blend of languages, making the Hinglish dialogues a distinctive creative choice. Alongside Kapoor, the movie stars Ash Tandon, Ranveer Brar, and Keith Allen. Notably, Kareena Kapoor Khan also marks her debut as a producer with this project, created in collaboration with Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures.
