Sonakshi Sinha, renowned Bollywood actress, has put her luxurious Mumbai apartment up for sale, sparking widespread speculation among her fans. The property, located in Bandra’s prestigious 81 Aureate Building, is notable not just for its grandeur but also because it was the venue for Sonakshi’s marriage to fellow actor Zaheer Iqbal. The couple’s wedding took place in this very apartment, which Sonakshi had purchased last year, marking her first independent home after moving out of her parents’ house shared with Shatrughan and Poonam Sinha.

This expansive sea-facing apartment features a rich 4,210.87 sq. ft. carpet area and was originally a 4BHK, now converted into a spacious 2BHK with decks. A real-estate Instagram account listed the apartment, quickly stirring comments about the unexpected move. “Why is Sonakshi Sinha selling her house? She had just bought it a while back,” read one typical remark among concerned fans.

Adding to the intrigue, Sonakshi and Zaheer’s wedding, a civil marriage with Sonakshi retaining her Hindu faith alongside Zaheer’s Muslim beliefs, took place here. Sonakshi even shared intimate wedding photos but disabled comments to preclude inter-faith marriage trolling.

Sonakshi Sinha has been quite vocal against the cyber bullying and online trolling, so much so that she even deactivated her Twitter account a couple of months ago, and since then, has been associated with various campaigns against the scourge on the internet.

The actress has now again spoken against the social-media trolling in an interview with Pinkvilla, where she has highlighted how the people are mkistaking free speech for the freedom to abuse, and why democracy is being misused in this aspect.

“People feel that by just hiding behind the screen they are anonymous and can say whatever they want to, and in whichever way they want. Definitely, democracy has been misused when it comes to social media and online harassment. People are really taking freedom of speech for granted and mistaking it for freedom to abuse- to which they don’t have a right. That’s why we are trying to create some awareness and what actions can be taken against those who perpetrate it,” said Sonakshi Sinha.

She added, “Yes, I was trolled and bullied even for taking a stand against bullying. People without thinking of anything just go out there and vent their frustration. Especially during the lockdown as people have less to do which is why a lot more negativity and hate are coming out online. Initial thoughts are that it is a battle but it’s definitely one that needs to begin and we need to fight back.”

Earlier, Sonakshi had quit Twitter, followed by a message on Instagram that read, “The first step to protecting your sanity is to stay away from negativity. And nowhere more of that than Twitter these days! Chalo, I’m off- deactivating my account. Bye guys, peace out.”

Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Anurag Kashyap starrer Ghoomketu is a complete laugh riot. The teaser of this comedy-drama was released on the Internet on Friday and has been trending since then. The teaser has all the elements of fun and interest. It opens with Ghoomketu, an aspiring scriptwriter, played by Nawazuddin, entering the city of dreams, Mumbai. Next, it is Anurag Kashyap as a lazy police inspector Badlani who is assigned the case of finding a missing person called Ghoomketu. Things take an interesting turn when Ghoomketu himself visits the police station to complain about his stolen script.

Now what happens when Ghoomketu reaches the police station and is just in-front of the Inspector? Will he recognize him? Or will there be a twist in the story? Watch the teaser:

Directed by Pushpendra Nath Mishraanand, the movie also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Ranveer Singh, Sonakshi Sinha, Chitrangada Singh, Lauren Gottlieb and filmmaker Nikhil Advani in a cameo role which adds a twist to their hilarious journey. Also, the star cast has Arun, Raghubir Yadav, Swanand Kirkire and Ragini Khanna.

Director Pushpendra said that the film was his ‘dream project’ with a stellar cast and the freedom to tell the story in a non-stereotypical way. “For all the writers, their observation begins at home. This film is  a celebration of our family members- our Bua’s and Chacha’s and Dadda’s- who we (Ghoomketu) always carry in our hearts, wherever we go. I am glad it will reach the huge family audience of ZEE5,” the director told PTI.

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap who plays the role of Inspector in the film said, “Every film is a labour of love and I saw the conviction in the director of Ghoomketu and hence decided to do something which is my least favourite thing to do, which is act. The film is funny and heartwarming.”

Ghoomketu is all set to premiere on ZEE5 on May 22.
