It’s been more than a month now that the entire world has come to a standstill due to the nation-wide lock down. And due to the increasing number of cases all over India, it’s unsure that the lock down will be lifted any sooner. Seems like we need to plan more things to our to-do-list.
This entire month, the online platform has been quite a friendly zone for the people to pass their time, with the binge-worthy movies and series. To add to your watch-list, Netflix and Amazon Prime is coming up with some great new shows and movies very soon.
Thappad- Amazon Prime Video
Thappad is one of the most awaited movies recently. The movie is ready for streaming in Amazon Prime Video. This Taapsee Pannu starrer movie revolves around how one act of physical violence is capable enough to shatter down an entire marriage. Since the movie was released around the time when lock down was announced, most of the people have missed it in the theatres. So, here’s your chance to catch it now.

Created by Greg Daniels, this is a new sci-fi movie based on the future where humans are capable of uploading themselves to their preferred version of the afterlife. As the protagonist of the movie gets used to his life away from his loved ones, he meets Nora, a woman who is very much alive and was helping him y guiding through his afterlife. Nora basically lived in Brooklyn and worked for the customer service for the luxurious “Lakeview” digital afterlife. When L.A. coder Nathan’s car crashes, his high-maintenance girlfriend uploads him permanently into Nora’s VR world.
Mrs. Serial Killer-Netflix
The movie is about a “doting wife” (Jacqueline) who must recreate the Serial Killer’s murdering ways to get her husband (Manoj Bajpayee) out of the jail, who has been framed into the crime falsely.
The movie is directed by Shirish Kunder and produced by Farah Khan. Mrs. Serial Killer will be Netflix’s fifth original from India in 2020. The trailer of ‘Mrs. Serial Killer was released on today, 17th April at 12 p.m. and the movie will be released on 1st May, 2020.
Never Have I Ever- Netflix
An American coming of age dramedy television series on Netflix staring Tamil-Canadian actress Maitreyi Ramakrishnan and created by Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher. It premiered on April 27, 2020. The series is inspired by Mindy’s childhood, where she was a first-generation Indian American teenager. It’s a coming-of-age comedy and one shouldn’t really miss it.
Truth Or Dare: Extended Director’s Cut- Netflix
In this more intense version of the Blumhouse thriller, a group of college friends on spring break play a game of Truth or Dare that turns deadly. The movie Blumhouse’s Truth or Dare: Extended Director’s Cut was released in 2018.
Medici (Season 3) – Netflix
If you are a fan of historical drama, then ‘Medici’ should be one such series that should be in your list. The series follows Italy’s Medici family which was known as the bankers of the Pope during Renaissance Florence. Each season follows the events of a specific moment in history and aims to explore the political and artistic landscape of Renaissance Italy.
A Secret Love- Netflix
This LGBTQ+ documentary is about a heart-warming story of two women who kept their decade-long love a secret. It is a story of Terry and Pat who hid their relationship for 65 years. From defying gender stereotypes to coming out of the closet, this is surely going to leave you with teary eyes.
Dangerous Lies- Netflix
Dangerous Lies is a 2020 upcoming American thriller film, directed by Michael Scott, from a screenplay by David Golden. It stars Camila Mendes, Jessie T. Usher, Jamie Chung, Cam Gigandet, Sasha Alexander and Elliott Gould. It shows Camila taking up a job as a caretaker for a wealthy elderly man in the Chicago estate. The two get close but when he passes away and names her as the sole heir, she and her husband are pushed into a world of lies, deception and murder.
Hollywood- Netflix
This is probably one of the most awaited shows in Netflix. Set against the post- World War II backdrop, the series is about a bunch of aspiring actors and filmmakers who are trying hard to make it big in the industry. Through each character, the series tries to unveil curtains from Hollywood’s Golden Age and gives a glimpse into the unfair systems and biases across race, gender and sexuality.
iZombie- Netflix
iZombie is an American TV series that is loosely based on the comic of the same name. The series debuted on The CW back in 2015 and has developed an incredibly loyal fan base. In the final season, zombies in Seattle face a critical food shortage and Liv is once again single after Chase Graves executed her boyfriend Levon a la guillotine.
