Triumphant Tribute: Rishab Shetty’s Emotional Dedication at the 70th National Film Awards
Rishab Shetty, celebrated for his pan-Indian blockbuster “Kantara,” was awarded the Best Actor accolade at the 70th National Film Awards. On Friday, he dedicated this honor to the late Kannada cinema icon Puneeth Rajkumar, the divine, and Daiva Nartakas—dancers devoted to god’s service.
Speaking at a press conference post-announcement, Shetty expressed his elation and affirmed his dedication. “From the start, I have insisted on dedicating this award to Puneeth Rajkumar, the Kannada people, and the Daiva Nartakas. I also extend my gratitude to the team of ‘Kantara’ from Hombale Films, who have earned four awards,” he stated.
Shetty reminisced about the moment the award was revealed, expressing his thrill. He emphasized the growth of the Kannada film industry and credited the success of “Kantara” to his film team. Special mentions included his wife Pragnya Shetty, the film’s costume designer, and the Director of Photography, whose collaborative efforts were integral to their victory. Additionally, he praised Ajaneesh Loknath for his musical contribution and thanked the entire cast, technical crew, and the production house Hombale Films.
“When people appreciate the film, our responsibility scales up. An award amplifies this responsibility further,” Shetty noted. Touching upon the personal significance of the award, he revealed that his wife Pragnya was the first to congratulate him. His joy amplified with congratulatory calls from peers, including KGF star Yash. The arrival of his daughter, equated to the goddess Lakshmi, coinciding with the Varamahalakshmi festival, doubled his happiness.
In conclusion, Rishab Shetty’s heartfelt dedication and gratitude showcase his humility and acknowledgment of contributions from his team and industry peers, marking this achievement as a collective milestone for Kannada cinema.
