In a video today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged the citizens of India to switch off their lights at home at 9 p.m. for 9 minutes on Sunday, the 5th of April and instead light diyas, candles, torch lights or mobile flash lights to battle the darkness of corona virus and mark the unity of the nation.
Soon after this video, the netizens have taken up the message into social media with both positive and negative views regarding this message. To clear up the concept, several people have rationalized the act, both scientifically and astrologically. Yet, much of the debate has been going on the same. Reacting to this message, several celebrities took to the social media and expressed themselves.
While filmmaker, Hansal Mehta paid a homage to the PM by sharing a yesteryear song, ‘Diya Jalao Jagmag’, Prason Joshi also supported it by dedicating his poem to the cause. Kangana Ranaut’s sister, Rangoli Chandel and Taapsee Pannu too reacted on PM’s message. Along with them, several other celebs like Hema Malini, Vir Das, Shruti Seth also expressed their views.
