Patralekha Paul, whose parents are in Shillong, has been panicking since Meghalaya registere first Covid-19 death

Actress Patralekha has been in lockdown in Mumbai for a month now and she is scared and worried about her parents who are in Shillong. Meghalaya registered its first Covid-19 death.

“My parents are in Shillong and I have been panicking ever since. It’s not about just one case; it’s the people who have come in contact with the infected person,” admits an agitated Patralekhaa.

“My brother is there too, so my parents won’t have to venture out for groceries, but I’m still worried.”

Insisting that besides physical concerns, there’s a mental health aspect that needs to be addressed too during the pandemic, the actress points out that she has never seen her father sit at home. “Even on Sundays, he’s working in his firm. Time slips by when you are busy, but not having anything to do adds to the stress,” she added. The self-confessed “spoilt hostel kid” was in a fix when she sent her cook on leave 10 days before she was shut in. She’s learnt cooking watching videos, starting with a simple dal palak with quinoa dish to healthier versions of chocolate cakes. “Of course, there were some misadventures along the way. I don’t want to be reminded of my first attempt at a dosa or a flourless chocolate cake,” she laughs.
