Anushka Sharma, an actress and an animal rights activist was irked out and strongly came against the two teen boys who reportedly tied up a dog and drowned it in a pond in a gruesome video that went viral on social media recently.
Sharing a news clip of the same, Anushka took to her Instagram handle and penned her thoughts saying, “I wish they are punished aptly for this.”
Following an FIR being launched and the organization PETA offering Rs. 50,000 as a reward for anyone who could identify the boys, reports claimed that the police were able to trace and identify the two in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. While one is 19-years-old, reports claimed that the other is a minor.
Investigations began shortly after a person uploaded the video of brutality online and demanded the arrest of the two. Reports revealed that the incident took place around six days ago and the boys reportedly drowned the dog ‘just for fun’.
Currently, the two have been booked under Section 34, 429 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 11(1) (a) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (PCA) Act, 1960.
