Sushant Singh Rajput case: Supreme Court to hear Rhea Chakraborty’s plea on August 11

After Sushant Singh Rajput’s father KK Singh filed an FIR in Patna against the actor’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, the actress had urged the Supreme Court to transfer the case to Mumbai. The apex court will now be hearing the plea on August 11. According to a report in a news portal, the centre on Wednesday told the Supreme Court that the case has now been transferred to CBI. Lauding the decision, Rhea’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde reportedly said that the petition in the SC will be heard in the next week. All concerned have to file their replies in the meantime. He also added that the state of Maharashtra is directed to place all the investigation steps taken in the case before the SC.

Elaborating further, he added that they are satisfied with the outcome of the hearing and given the pendency of the proceedings in SC, Rhea, or anyone on her behalf are refraining from making any comments in the case.
Right now, the CBI has formed a special team and started investigating the case. An FIR was also filed by the CBI against six people, including Rhea, her father Indraijt, brother Showik, mother Sandhya, Samual Miranda, Sushant’s house manager and Shruti Modi, Sushant former business manager.

CBI also moved to the Supreme Court to request them to make them a party to the Sushant Singh Rajput case. Although the Bihar Police has filed an FIR in the case, they still need SC’s nod to investigate the case in Maharashtra. Meanwhile, the Bihar Police has reportedly handed over all case-related documents and details to the CBI.
Rhea was grilled by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) yesterday for over eight hours. Earlier, she had requested the ED to postpone the questioning until after the Supreme Court verdict, but the ED had rejected the request.
