It’s been more than three months since Sushant Singh Rajput‘s demise, but teachers and students of St Karen’s High School have not been able to come to terms with his death.
On the occasion of Teacher’s Day, messages were pouring in from the present and former students of the school, saying they are missing their beloved shy and smart alumni. The teachers themselves have been glued to the TV, following every twist and turn in the case about their student from the 2001 batch, who made it big in Bollywood.
Suniti Bahadur, one of the oldest teachers in the school, remembers Sushant as a submissive and obedient student. “He was a very decent and introverted boy back then. But whenever he participated in sports, he would put even extroverts to shame. I quite liked him as a student.”
Most of the teachers from the school are certain that Sushant was murdered. The physical education teacher said, “My blood boils whenever I read how people are trying to dismiss this case as a suicide. When the Supreme Court verdict came and CBI took over the case, I was thrilled. I am sure the truth will be in front of us soon and the wrongdoers will be punished appropriately.”
Nikhil John, a Hindi teacher who was Sushant’s junior in school said, “I remember Sushant because of his interest in physics and the concept of time. Our friendship grew after 2011 when I went to Mumbai to work as a scriptwriter. Sushant was working in Pavitra Rishta at that time,” he said. Recalling the incident, he added, “Sushant couldn’t recognise me at first. But when he learnt that I was from his school, we became friends in no time.”
