Sidharth Malhotra expressed shock over the rape of a 19 years old girl in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh and urged that the criminals should be punished. Demanding justice for the victim, the actor had posted on Twitter, “#HathrasCase is unacceptable! History keeps repeating itself again and again & it’s time for this to stop! Requesting all concerned authorities to act and punish the criminals at the earliest.”
Previously, Priyanka Chopra had also penned a post condemning the incident and shared, “The disrespect and abuse, The frustration and anger, The sadness and helplessness, These emotions replay on loop. Why the hate? Are the parents raising boys listening? Is the law mute to the screams? How many more Nirbhayas? How many more years?”
Other Bollywood celebrities like Kangana Ranaut, Anushka Sharma, Shilpa Shetty, Preity Zinta, Javed Akhtar, Riteish Deshmukh and several other Bollywood celebrities had expressed grief for the victim.
“The horrific story of Hathras gangrape has devastated me…I sincerely hope that strictest punishment is given to the barbaric men who have carried out such a horrific, inhuman act on a young life and caused her family irreparable pain,” Anushka Sharma had shared.
