Samantha Ruth Prabhu Overcomes Myositis Challenges During ‘Citadel: Honey Bunny’ Filming
Samantha Ruth Prabhu has recently opened up about the challenges she faced while filming “Citadel: Honey Bunny,” where she stars alongside Varun Dhawan. The actress was diagnosed with myositis during the shooting, a development that brought significant hurdles to her professional life. Despite contemplating withdrawal from the role, she found inspiration to persevere through what she described as one of the most challenging phases of her career.
The film, now streaming on Prime Video, features Samantha as a spy with a mysterious past, earning commendations for her compelling performance. Reflecting on her journey, Samantha expressed how she has always been self-reliant, learning from her life choices and mistakes. She highlighted her stubborn nature, saying, “It’s impossible to convince me when I believe that everything is over.” This mindset initially convinced her that continuing with the shoot was impossible given her health condition.
The turning point came from the support of the “Citadel” team, who helped her place trust in others. Samantha recounted, “In 37 years of my life, I haven’t been in a position where I have said, ‘Okay, hands up, I don’t know what’s best for me.’” She credited the team for encouraging her to surrender control and trust in their belief in her capabilities.
