Sushant Singh Rajput case: Rhea Chakraborty’s bail plea to be heard by the High Court tomorrow

Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty had filed a bail plea in the Bombay High Court yesterday and their application was to be heard today. However, her lawyer Satish Manshinde updated that due to heavy rains in the city, the hearing may not happen. “Chief Justice has declared holiday today for Bombay High Court and today’s board will be taken up tomorrow, i.e. on 24th September,” Rhea’s lawyer had shared in a statement.

Rhea Chakraborty was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on September 9 and her 14-day judicial custody ended yesterday. According to a leading portal, Rhea’s hearing took place via a video conference and soon after the hearing, the judicial custody of the accused had been extended till October 6th. Since it was just a remand production, there was no bail application attached to it. Apart from Rhea, her brother, Showik Chakraborty, and Sushant Singh Rajput’s personal staff members- Dipesh Sawant and Samuel Miranda have also been sent ot judicial custody till October 6th.

According to the latest updates in the drug probe, several A listed celebrities have been mentioned in the ‘drug-chats’ and are under the NCB’s scrutiny. The initials of five celebrities, namely- K, D, S, N and J have been revealed and the report further stated that ‘D’ has been allegedly identified as Deepika Padukone while ‘K’ is Karishma, her manager.

The Narcotics Control Bureau had summoned Deepika Padukone’s manager Karishma Prakash and a talent management agency’s CEO Dhruv Chitgopekar in connection with its probe.

Reports also mention that Sara Ali Khan and Shraddha Kapoor’s names had also emerged during the probe and suggests that they will also receive the summons soon from the NCB.
