The passing of Bollywood’s ace actor Irrfan Khan has left everyone shattered. It has left a void in the Industry that can never be filled.
Irrfan Khan has always awed the audience with his performances on screen and he even had a lot of interesting films in the pipeline too. Did you know that he was to star in a big-budget movie about a pandemic with ‘Ship of Theseus’ director Anand Gandhi?
In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, Anand Gandhi reportedly said Irrfan and he drove to Pune once and became friends over the years. He also said that he explored the presence of Irrfan in ‘Tumbbad’ before the final script and schedules changed things. He also revealed that he would have been in ‘Emergence’ too. Talkig about the film, he added that the idea came while working on ‘Ship of Theseus’. The film is about taking the parasite-host relationship further. Popular epidemiologist, Larry Brilliant has come on board as the executive producer for the film. Talking about Larry he told that Larry spearheaded the team that eradicated smallpox and controlled polio. He figures out the epicentre of a pandemic and calculates the R-naught of the contagion, which is a measure of how many people it can infect. The filmmaker revealed that he is planning to start the film in 2021, collaborating with an American studio.
In the end he said that he wished he had created something with Irrfan.
