Sushant Singh Rajput’s death by suicide at his Bandra residence on June 14, 2020, shocked the nation. Sushant passed away at the age of 34 and was reportedly suffering from depression. He started his career from the hindi serial “Pavitra Rishta”. From his debut film ‘Kai Po Che’ to ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’ and ‘Kedarnath’ to ‘Chhichhore’ – Sushant left void in the industry.
2. Jiah Khan
Jiah Khan, a rising star of Bollywood, ended her life on June 3, 2013 at her Juhu flat. Reports suggested that she had a tiff with her boy friend Sooraj Pancholi and a six page long suicide note was also recovered from her residence. Sooraj was charged with abetting the suicide of his girlfriend Jiah Khan and was reportedly behind bars for 23 days. Jiah Khan was 25-years-old when she passed away. She marked her debut in Bollywood with ‘Nishabd’ in 2007 and went on to feature in blockbusters like ‘Ghajini’ and ‘Housefull’.
3. Kushal Punjabi
Kushal Punjabi died due to suicide on December 26, 2019 n his Bandra residence, leaving everyone shocked. In a note he left, Kushal had stated that nobody should be held responsible for his death. Chetan Hansraj, a close friend of Kushal, had told Timesofindia.com that the actor was going through separation from his wife. Kushal’s wife Audrey Dolhin, who lives in Shangai, had flown down for his funeral.
4. Shikha Joshi
Actress Shikha Joshi died due to suicide on May 16, 2015. She was found in a pool of blood by her friend Madhu Bharti and she had named a cosmetic surgeon in her dying statement. According to Mumbai Mirror, the doctor in his statement told the police that Shikha had attempted suicide earlier, threatened him and demanded money. Shikha Joshi had featured in 2012 Bollywood film ‘BA Pass’.
5. Pratyusha Bannerjee
Balika Vadhu actress Pratyusha Bannerjee was found hanging on April 1, 2016 at her Mumbai residence. She was just 24 years old. Her death news left everyone shoked. According to the postmortem report the cause of death was suicide. Reportedly, Pratyusha was in a live-in-relationship with Rahul Raj Singh, had become an alcoholic and was depressed due to financial and emotional crunches.
