His transition from a background dancer to a TV heart throb and then to a silver screen entertainer has been quite impressive. ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela – Ram Leela’-
Sanjay Leela Bhansali had reportedly approached Sushant Singh Rajput to play the lead in his romantic drama ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela – Ram Leela’ but they could not collaborate due to date issues. After Sushant’s demise, a source had informed ETime that SLB had offered Sushant four films, all of which did not work out, “Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjay Leela Bhansali were quite fond of each other as well as their work. In fact, not once but 4 times working together was on the cards for them, SLB had offered him 4 films, but due to date issues, things didn’t materialise.”
‘RAW: Romeo Akbar Walter’
Sushant Singh Rajput was the face of ‘RAW: Romeo Akbar Walter’ when the posters were first released in 2017. He had shared the same on social media but later he dropped out of the venture. Sushant reportedly had a busy schedule and had to turn down the thriller film directed by Robbie Grewal. The actor had also reportedly returned the signing amount of Rs 4 crore after a mutual interaction with the makers of the film. John Abraham took the lead in this film which hit the screens in 2019.
Fitoor
Sushant Singh Rajput marked his debut in Bollywood with Abhishek Kapoor directed ‘Kai Po Che’ and he had once again planned to collaborate with his mentor for ‘Fitoor’. Speaking to a news portal Sushant had shared that ‘Fitoor’ was the first film of his career where he had said yes without even reading the script because it had Abhishek as the director. Sushant had further stated that he had prepped for ‘Fitoor’ and waited for several months but the film did not go on floors and then he decided to sign up for ‘Paani’.
Half Girlfriend:
Chetan Bhagat, the writer of ‘Half Girlfriend’ had announced that Sushant Singh Rajput would play the lead in the book’s adaptation, which will be directed by Mohit Suri. Sources had told ETimes that Sushant had met Mohit Suri at his house in the dead of the night and spoken to him in the Bihari accent like the character Madhav Jha in the book and impressed the filmmaker. However later the actor had to drop out of the film. While speaking to a news portal, Sushant had revealed that he had long ago agreed to do Dinesh Vijan’s film, even before ‘Half Girlfriend’ was offered to him, which was reportedly the film ‘Raabta’.
