Sonu Sood has been relentlessly helping every needy person during this pandemic. Whether it is sending people to their home towns or helping them in their financial need, Sonu Sood is the first person to extend his helping hand.
Recently, the Bollywood actor, who is now a national hero has added a new feather to his cap by facilitating a brain tumour surgery of a 46-year-old Assam resident, Guddi.
Guddi and her husband were not in a position to bear the surgery expenses as her husband had lost his job during the coronavirus induced lockdown.
The surgery expenses were estimated between Rs. 2-2.5 lakh.
The couple finally approached Sonu Sood who assured them with the financial help.
Sonu Sood on August 8 had made an appeal to country’s doctors to sponsor the surgery via a tweet.
“My humble request to everyone who can afford to help a needy. Please come out of ur comfort world, adopt a patient in any hospital near you if you can or atleat someone’s medicine expenses. If you all do this I promise you half the misery will just vanish.#wakeupcall (sic),” Sonu tweeted.
Interestingly, the first surgeon to respond to Sonu’s tweet was a Karnal, Haryana-based neurosurgeon Dr, Ashwani Kumar.
“I adore philanthropic wake up call of Shri Sonu Sood to adopt a needy patient. I promised to operate one brain tumour patient per month totally for free of cost (sic), dr. Ashwani Kumar tweeted.
Soon after hearing from Ashwani Kumar, Sonu Sood arranged for Guddi’s travel between Guwahati to Karnal.
Guddi was admitted to the hospital on August 28 and underwent the surgery on September 1. Her surgery was successful and she will be discharged from the hospital on Wednesday.
Guddi and her husband are al praise for Sonu Sood and Dr. Ashwani Kumar who saved her life.
