Shiv Sena MP and spokesperson Sanjay Raut has in his affidavit denied threatening or abusing Kangana Ranaut in an interview. “She has not approached High Court court with clean hands, hence not entitled to any reliefs’’. Raut’s counsel Pradeep Thorat will argue before the HC on Tuesday.
“I deny that I have threatened the petitioner (Kangana) on September 5 in a news video of a channel…in derogatory and abusive manner as alleged.’’ He said in the interview she has relied on, “ I have not abused the petitioner nor have I threatened her.’’ “I have only referred to her as ‘dishonest’ because she had made a statement saying Mumbai is like Pa Occupied Kashmir.’’ He said he had responded since she had “insulted Mumbai and Maharashtra” He said he has no concern with the action initiated by BMC against her under the civic law.
He said his name be deleted as a party.
On Monday Bombay high court pointedly asked a counsel for Shiv Sena Spokesperson Sajnay Raut, “Are you saying that he is not calling her(Kangana Ranaut) a ‘h……..’? ’’ Justice S J Kathawalla who along with Justice Riyaz Chagla is hearing her petition against “illegal demolition’’ by Sena-led BMC, repeatedly asked this to Raut’s counsel Thorat.
The question was after a short clip of Thorat’s interveiw where he allegedly used a nine-letter expletive against her was played by her lawyers at a virtual court hearing, and Thorat said there was “no mention’’ of her name.
“Are you saying that you are saying he has not referred to her when he said that ‘ladki’ ?’’ “You will have to answer this question from the court,’’ Justice Kathawalla had said on Monday.
Raut’s counsel Thorat on Tuesday submitted his reply.
The HC had made Raut a party to Kangana’s petition after she submitted his video clip as a material to allege “malice” in the demolition action by the Sena-led BMC.
