Actors Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh are all set to reprise their roles in “De De Pyaar De 2,” the eagerly awaited sequel to their 2019 hit. While the original film starred Tabu, she will not be returning for the sequel. Instead, the new addition is R Madhavan, who will play a pivotal role as Rakul Preet Singh’s father, promising several humorous interactions with Ajay Devgn’s character, Ashish.
The film’s next major shooting schedule is set to begin in Punjab this September. After an initial phase in Mumbai, the team is shifting locations. A source quoted by Hindustan Times revealed, “The first shoot schedule was in Mumbai, but then Ajay had to leave for the Son of Sardar 2 shoot in the UK. R Madhavan, Rakul, and Ajay will now shoot in Punjab for some time and then return to Bombay for the next schedule in October.” This Punjab leg of the shoot is expected to last 15-20 days, capturing the state’s beauty while emphasizing family dynamics in homely settings.
Insiders suggest that many scenes in Punjab will take place inside a traditional bungalow and around farms, focusing on family interactions. New director Anshul Sharma aims to maintain the chemistry between Rakul Preet and Ajay Devgn established in the original film. Sharma also plans to infuse fresh elements into the story. There is even talk of a surprise cameo to keep audiences intrigued.
The production team is working tirelessly to wrap up filming by the end of the year, with a view to releasing the film in May next year. With its engaging storyline and star-studded cast, “De De Pyaar De 2” is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated Bollywood releases.
