In a dramatic turn of events, prominent actor Nagarjuna has strongly rebuked Telangana politician Konda Surekha for her inflammatory comments involving his family. Surekha had recently stirred controversy by claiming that K.T. Rama Rao, a key political figure, played a role in the breakup of Nagarjuna’s son, Naga Chaitanya, and actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu, citing his alleged interference as the root cause. Her claims suggested that Rao’s demands concerning Nagarjuna’s N-Convention Centre indirectly led to the high-profile divorce.
Nagarjuna, determined to protect his family’s dignity, has rejected Surekha’s apology and initiated a series of legal actions against her. This includes a criminal defamation lawsuit and a separate Rs 100 crore defamation suit, underscoring his stance that the misuse of actors’ names for political leverage is unacceptable. He emphasized that while Surekha apologized to Samantha, no apology was extended to him or his family—an omission he finds insulting.
