Filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj is gearing up to start filming his upcoming action thriller featuring Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri in December. This project has sparked considerable excitement as it reunites Bhardwaj with Kapoor after their last collaboration in “Rangoon” (2017). In a noteworthy twist, Shahid Kapoor will portray the infamous gangster Hussain Ustara, known for his fierce rivalry with Dawood Ibrahim. According to a Mid-Day report, Kapoor has already begun rigorous preparation for his challenging role. He is undergoing intense combat training to meet the demands of the film’s action-packed sequences. A source mentioned, “Shahid is focusing on understanding Ustara’s motivations, emotions, and mental battles,” with guidance from Vishal Bhardwaj to ensure an authentic portrayal of this complex character.

Meanwhile, Triptii Dimri is also diving into her role, which reportedly centers around themes of revenge. She has started attending workshops to capture the essence of her character. “Triptii’s role is crucial to the narrative, and her preparation involves getting into the mindset of a character driven by vengeance,” the source added. Both actors are currently preparing separately and will soon begin joint rehearsals as the filming date approaches.

For Bhardwaj, this film has been a long-held vision. Initially, he had planned a biopic on Sapna Didi, with the late Irrfan Khan as Ustara and Deepika Padukone. Although that project didn’t come to fruition, Bhardwaj seems to have found his ideal lead in Shahid Kapoor for this gangster role. As the film gears up for production, fans anticipate a captivating mix of action and drama, showcasing the director’s long-awaited vision on the big screen.
