Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Anurag Kashyap starrer Ghoomketu is a complete laugh riot. The teaser of this comedy-drama was released on the Internet on Friday and has been trending since then. The teaser has all the elements of fun and interest. It opens with Ghoomketu, an aspiring scriptwriter, played by Nawazuddin, entering the city of dreams, Mumbai. Next, it is Anurag Kashyap as a lazy police inspector Badlani who is assigned the case of finding a missing person called Ghoomketu. Things take an interesting turn when Ghoomketu himself visits the police station to complain about his stolen script.
Now what happens when Ghoomketu reaches the police station and is just in-front of the Inspector? Will he recognize him? Or will there be a twist in the story? Watch the teaser:
Directed by Pushpendra Nath Mishraanand, the movie also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Ranveer Singh, Sonakshi Sinha, Chitrangada Singh, Lauren Gottlieb and filmmaker Nikhil Advani in a cameo role which adds a twist to their hilarious journey. Also, the star cast has Arun, Raghubir Yadav, Swanand Kirkire and Ragini Khanna.
Director Pushpendra said that the film was his ‘dream project’ with a stellar cast and the freedom to tell the story in a non-stereotypical way. “For all the writers, their observation begins at home. This film is a celebration of our family members- our Bua’s and Chacha’s and Dadda’s- who we (Ghoomketu) always carry in our hearts, wherever we go. I am glad it will reach the huge family audience of ZEE5,” the director told PTI.
Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap who plays the role of Inspector in the film said, “Every film is a labour of love and I saw the conviction in the director of Ghoomketu and hence decided to do something which is my least favourite thing to do, which is act. The film is funny and heartwarming.”
Ghoomketu is all set to premiere on ZEE5 on May 22.
