Ali Fazal, who has been home since early March, has taken to the written word by starting work on his first script.
Ali confirmed the same, saying writing is an entirely new experience for him. He says, “The first few days of lockdown were difficult because, like everyone else, I was trying to make sense of the new normal. That’s when I realised the value of art and cinema and started working on an idea. It’s a period film, with a bittersweet quality to it, a slice-of-life story which cherishes life. At a time like this, it’s necessary to look at life from a fresh perspective and I hope I am able to do that with this film. It’s a work in progress, let’s see how it turns out.”
When asked about filmmaking, he said that he has no such pland as of now. But he also said that, “”We are all part of this story-telling. I have just begun writing something; it is going to take time. I am still getting my head around it. So, direction has to wait. Pehle achcha actor toh ban jaun,” he smiles.
When asked about his wedding with Richa, he said, “It has been delayed until further notice. I think we will celebrate with the world when everything is open again. We have something to celebrate… some good news hopefully, that everyone will get and we’ll make sure to bring that along with our wedding. Until then, we’re following all the rules of the lockdown and awaiting the next steps.”
