After cinema halls were directed to work at 50 per cent capacity, and night shows were cancelled due to the night curfew, there is yet another issue that will set them back further. A weekend lockdown that comes into effect from Friday 8 pm to Monday 7 am, wipes out any chance for film releases.
Additionally, the state government has allowed film and TV units to continue work over the weekend but from now, all shoots will take place with only 33 per cent crew members on the sets. The crew members will have to wear masks and social distancing will have to be followed. The decision comes after Maharashtra Chief minister Uddhav Thackeray had a virtual meet with the film industry members and asked them to avoid shooting big, extravagant scenes, which will need dancers and junior artists.
