“Unveiling ‘Love and War’: Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Star-Studded Epic Set to Ignite Box Office in 2026”
Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the acclaimed director known for his opulent and riveting storytelling, last delighted audiences with the web series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar on Netflix. Following the show’s success earlier this year, anticipation is building for his next cinematic venture, Love and War. The film, notably headlined by Bollywood A-listers Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal, has been a hot topic in industry circles.
In an exclusive reveal, Bollywood Hungama reported that Bhansali’s Love and War is set to start filming next month. An industry insider disclosed, “After Heeramandi, there is keen anticipation for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next Love and War. Apart from the out-of-the-box title, the casting of Ranbir, Alia, and Vicky has constantly kept the film in the news. The movie will finally go on floors from October 24 and that will mark the beginning of the first schedule.” While the duration of the initial filming phase remains under wraps, it’s expected to be an exhaustive one, given Bhansali’s meticulous approach to filmmaking.
Love and War marks a first for Vicky Kaushal working under Bhansali’s direction. However, Kapoor and Bhatt are no strangers to the filmmaker’s grandeur. Ranbir Kapoor debuted in Bhansali’s Saawariya in 2007, whereas Alia Bhatt delivered a powerful performance in the 2022 blockbuster Gangubai Kathiawadi.
The much-anticipated film is slated for a theatrical release on March 20, 2026. Interestingly, it is set to clash with Shah Rukh Khan’s next project, potentially making for an explosive Eid box office showdown.
