New Delhi: Kareena Kapoor is eagerly anticipating the release of her new film, The Buckingham Murders, set to hit theaters on September 13. In a strategic move to broaden the film’s reach, the makers have decided to release it in two versions: a Hinglish version and a Hindi-dubbed version. This dual-release strategy aims to cater to a diverse audience, ensuring the film’s authenticity and accessibility.
Directed by Hansal Mehta and penned by Aseem Arrora, Kashyap Kapoor, and Raghav Raj Kakker, The Buckingham Murders brings together a stellar cast including Kareena Kapoor, Ash Tandon, Ranveer Brar, and Keith Allen. To retain the film’s true essence, Hansal Mehta has cast actors from the local area, ensuring their accents stay authentic. However, this might pose a challenge for some viewers, hence the decision to offer a Hindi-dubbed version alongside the Hinglish original.
Given the film’s genre—a mystery thriller—and Kareena’s extensive fanbase, the makers aim to strike a balance by utilizing a 50-50 strategy: half of the screens will show the Hinglish version, while the other half will feature the Hindi-dubbed version. This approach underscores the commitment to making the film as accessible as possible to a wider audience.
The Buckingham Murders is a product of Mahana Films and TBM Films, presented by Balaji Telefilms. The project has been produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, and marked as Kareena Kapoor’s debut as a producer.
