To combat the corona virus pandemic, the entire nation has come to a standstill, with most of the people being locked down at their homes. People are looking for every possible way to use their time being at home. As the quarantine days are increasing, people seem to revisit the yester-years and yearns to have a few of the memories back. Well, the netizens right now are tweeting to our PM demanding for the re-telecast of the popular TV shows of the 90s, the Ramayana and the Mahabharata.In these years, there has been different TV serials on mythology. But people, are particularly demanding for the telecast of Ramanand Sagar’s ‘Ramayan’ that was first aired in 1987. They are also asking for the re-telecast of Director B.R. Chopra’s Mahabharat, first aired in 1988. Both the TV shows were telecasted on Doordarshan.
Prasar Bharati CEO, Shashi Shekhar has said that the public service broadcaster was ‘working’ with ‘rights holders’ to air the mythological series again.
Well, this might be helpful for our generation to know a few mythological stories as well as successfully complete the 21 days of lock down.
