Bollywood actor, Kartik Aryan recently uploaded a video on his Instagram account which got viral in a negative way. He faced a lot of criticisms from the netizens as he was accused of promoting domestic violence and being misogynistic. He deleted the video after facing the backlashes.
In an interview with an online entertainment portal, Kartik spoke about the video, addressing how it was believed to promote domestic violence. He said that if the accusations made against the video had been true than his mother and sister too would have objected on seeing it. Kartik’s mother and sister had watched the video prior to uploading.
After posting the video, the netizens slammed him for the content. Singer Sona Mohapatra also criticized him for uploading a video like this. She shared a post in which she expressed her opinion on the video without naming anyone. Though in a way, she mentioned that Kartik Aryan’s entire career is built on misogynistic movies. Talking about the video, Sona Mohapatra said that it was not funny rather it was ridiculous.
In the video, Kartik Aryan was seen throwing her sister out of the balcony for making bad rotis. The video starts with him sitting and taking a bite of the roti made by his sister. He then makes faces and throws his sister out of the balcony.
The entire situation got out of hand and the video turned into a topic of controversy. Kartik said that sometimes things get blown out of proportion. He deleted the video after things turned ugly. But, on the other hand, many people asked him why he deleted it. He said that there are two sides to everything and that he was not promoting anything misogynistic as people were claiming online.
Kartik Aryan said that unknowingly, the video hurt the sentiments of some people and hence it is deleted. He also said that he knows it and that is why he deleted it. He felt that if someone is even slightly hurt by something like this, he should delete it and not get into it and that is what he did.
