#GoodBye2020! Darshan Kumaar: This year made me realise that family and close friends are very precious

Actor Darshan Kumaar managed to impress the audience once again with his brilliant act as Ujagar Singh in MX Player‘s web show Aashram (Season 1 and 2).

ETimes got in touch with Darshan, who talked about his upcoming projects, learning classical singing and much more. Here are some excerpts from the conversation:

Describe 2020 in one sentence

It was an eye-opener for all

How different has this year been for you?
This year taught me to reset life. I realised that family and close friends are the most precious thing in life. They are God’s gift for you and it’s important to love your family and spend time with them as well. Let us remember to love ourselves, be happy and stay healthy all the time.

Favourite OTT show of 2020
Other than my shows Avrodh and Aashram, I also liked Asur and The Boys.

Talent you acquired in 2020
Classical singing. I also learnt the art of doing my gymming schedule at home with the help of resistance bands.

Holiday destination you missed in 2020
I was planning to go to New Zealand in April right after finishing four months of the hectic schedule of Ashram but I couldn’t due to the pandemic.

Any regrets of 2020
Being devoid of work as all my projects were pushed ahead for almost a year.

Resolutions/Goals for 2021
To work hard, be happy, choose my scripts wisely and play different and challenging roles.

How was your experience on returning to the sets post the lockdown?

I felt like I was suddenly on another planet altogether. With masks, face shields and PPE kits, each and every person looked like an alien (laughs). It was really difficult to recognise people on the sets. All eyes were on the actors while performing in front of the camera as we were the only ones without mask. It was a strange experience.

One film you are looking forward to in 2021
Toofan! Farhan(Akhtar), Rakeysh Om Praksha Mehra sir and all of us have given our heart and soul to this film.

What’s next for you?
I have Toofan and the second season of  “The Family Man” lined up.
