B-town celebs mourn the loss of actor Ranjit Chowdhry

Actor Ranjit Chowdhry, who is known for Sanjay Gupta‘s ‘Kaante‘ passed away at the age of 64. His half-sister Raell Padamsee confirmed the same on social media. She wrote, “For all those who knew Ranjit, the funeral will be held tomorrow and a gathering to celebrate his life n share his stories on May 5th. With love, Raell.”

‘Kaante’ director Sanjay wrote, ”RIP my friend Ranjit Chaudhury. Had the pleasure of working with you in KAANTE. Thank you for the joy you gave us through your performances. KHATTA MEETHA is my favourite.Keep smiling wherever you are.”

Rahul Khanna wrote, ”Gutted to learn of #RanjitChowdhry’s passing. Despite his diminutive frame, he was a towering icon of Indian diaspora cinema and a master of his craft. By far, one of the most endearingly quirky and acerbically witty people I’ve had the pleasure of knowing. A true original!”.

The fan of the actor reacted with sadness, disbelieve and support to his demise. One of them wrote, “There hasn’t been a single moment in the last 30 years since I saw #BaatonBaatonMein when the mere mention of Ranjit Chowdhry’s name failed to bring a smile. Thanks for the memories and the great songs!”

Another fan wrote, “OMG! Hearing this for the first time! #RanjitChowdhry was the quintessential “younger brother” and I always admired his vocab which was evident in every movie of his that he acted. Sam & Me is such a beautifully written story. Om Shanti.”

“Saddened to hear of the passing of the legendary #RanjitChowdhry. He is best known for his films like ‘Baton Baton Mein‘, ‘Khubsoorat‘ and ‘Kaalia’. He even featured in an international film ‘Lonely in America’.
