Ayushmann Khurrana and wife, Tahira Kashyap pledges to empower woman rag-pickers this Raksha Bandhan

Raksha Bandhan being just a few days away, Bollywood actor, Ayushmann Khurrana and wife, Tahira Kashyap have extended their support to an NGO from Delhi that empowers underprivileged and marginalized women to become self-reliant.

The actor’s support will not only help around 200 women rag pickers but will also feed their creative skills as this year the NGO has taken an initiative to sell handmade Rakhis. All the process for this initiative will contribute to the well-being of these underprivileged women.

Talking about this initiative, Ayushmann shared with ANI, “Tahira and I are deeply and emotionally invested in Gulmeher (the NGO). The organization is doing outstanding work to support this needy segment of the population in Delhi.”

Considering the ongoing situation of lockdown, the actor added that these women are at risk as their flow of income has been affected to a great extend during these tough times. However, the couple’s support to bring attention to the situation can help to improve their present and calls in the ‘right direction’ to empower women in society.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Ayushmann Khurrana was last seen in Gulabo Sitabo with Amitabh Bachchan and will be again collaborating with Anubhav Sinha for an upcoming film, ‘Anek’.
